Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why do you only accept cash?

Because to accept any other kind of payment would cost the seller money. When you usually buy a product or service from an online seller, you have to pay not only for the product but also for the cost of making that product available to sell to you. That includes third-party online merchant services which allows you to pay with your credit or debit card. It doesn't cost the seller anything to accept cash, and since buyers must physically meet with sellers to obtain the merchandise being sold, it just makes sense to physically give the cash to the seller.

Why can't these items be shipped?

Because some items can cost a lot of money to ship, not only in postage and packaging but also in postal insurance to make sure it gets to you in one piece. This cost would obviously be passed on to you the buyer, so you ultimately end up paying more money. In some cases, the cost of shipping an item can cost more than the item itself, so where's the savings? We at Cash Only Warehouse have decided that it is just easier and less expensive for transactions to take place the old-fashioned way, with buyer and seller being in the same location to conduct a mutually beneficial transaction.

If the item being sold is too large, heavy or fragile to easily or safely transport, the buyer will most likely be required to come to the seller's home to inspect the merchandise personally and thoroughly.

If you really, really, really want the item you're buying shipped, you will obviously have to pay extra for that, and the terms will have to be discussed in greater detail between the seller and yourself.

How do I know the items sold on Cash Only Warehouse are of good quality?

That's where our no-shipping policy shines. Sites like eBay and Craigslist have admitted they've had problems in the past in which buyers ended up paying for a product they received in the mail that was different or of a different condition and/or quality than the product they saw on the website. With Cash Only Warehouse, buyers can meet sellers and properly inspect the very merchandise they intend to purchase before laying out a dime. It is no exaggeration that because of our no-shipping policy, Cash Only Warehouse is fraud-proof.

What is the secret to your success?

It's simple. We use 21st Century technology (the Internet)to promote a 19th Century-style of trade. No mail order arrangements as were all the rage in the 20th Century, and no Internet buy-with-a-single-click 24 hours a day arrangements, either. Buyer contacts seller and both parties agree to meet to show merchandise and cash.

Why don't sellers just list their stuff on eBay, Craigslist or similar websites?

Because with eBay, you have to pay a fee to list the item, and then another fee to include a photo, and more fees if you want to include more photos. If the item doesn't sell in the 10 days you're allowed to list the item on eBay, you have to pay more to have it on the site for another 10 days. But if you do sell the item, eBay wants a cut of the final sale, too! With all these fees, eBay sellers now must pass that expense on to the price of the item being sold, or risk selling the item for less than what it cost to sell it.

Craigslist is free, but you're only allowed to have the item listed on Craigslist for 10 days. Even though Craigslist does create a temporary anonymous e-mail address to forward all replies to a sale to the seller's real e-mail address, many times sellers often receive e-mail from spammers pretending to be from Craigslist immediately after using Craigslist.

At Cash Only Warehouse, sellers pay one fee up front, no funny business, they can upload up to five photos free of charge, and the item remains on our site until it is sold.

How do you know so much about the products?

Simple! Because these are not just inventory we ordered to sell. These are personal possessions our sellers are willing to part with in these troubling economic times, so sellers know how much old they are, what condition they are in, and sometimes how much they may cost now on other websites.

If the transactions are between buyers and sellers, how do you guys make money?

We charge sellers a one time fee of $5 or 5% (whichever is lower) of the initial selling price, and sellers are allowed to upload up to five photos of the product for free. We also make a few bucks with the display ads on the sidebar.

Why is this website set up like a blog?

We figured this would be the easiest way to categorize products and make them more searchable for you the buyer without having to use a complicated and expensive database inventory system or some fancy search engine. It also allows buyers to post questions about a specific item they see on the site.

Do you realize the acronym for Cash Only Warehouse is COW?

Yes, we do! It was completely unintentional, as I was only looking for a name that explained our no-shipping policy and our fantastic warehouse prices. But we felt we should capitalize on this accidental acronym. That's why our mascot is Cashy the Cash Cow, and our slogan is "We're here to moooooove merchandise!"
